"So-shu" (Suzhou) in China. Suzhou is located about 50 miles west of Shanghai, the southen part of Jiangsu province. The city has been famous for its elegant gardens and man-made canals from ancient times. According to a Chinese proverb, �In heaven there is paradise. On earth there are Suzhou and Hangzhou.� Houses with white walls and gray-tiled roofs line up along the webs of canals just as seen in this picture. .
