Frontispiece illustration from the popular literary magazine, Bungei Kurabu Vol.9, No. 1, which was aimed at largely female readers in Meiji - Taisho era. The tragic scene of the wandering priest Saigyo meeting his wife in late autumn. She became a nun after he had left.
