Colour woodblock print, oban. The kabuki actor Sawamura Sojuro III in an unidentified role, but probably Mutsuzo, in reality Genzaemon, holding a votive painting ('ema') of a horse, with a tobacco pouch and pipe case hanging from his obi sash; in the ‘Miyamairi musubu kamigaki’ scene from the play ‘Yuki onna keizu no hachinoki’ by Namiki Gohei I, performed at the Kiri-za in the 11th month of 1797.
