作品名: Fish on the Table
Thursday, 29 November 2007 Tamami Shima is considered one of the Sosaku hanga masters, and a notable Japanese woman artist. This print is from 1959 - a great era for modern Japanese woodblocks, and this one is no exception. It depicts fish and a bowl in an abstract manner. It measures 10 ? in x 15 in image and 12 in x 17 ? in sheet. It is signed in pencil in the lower right and dated and numbered 1959, 66/100 in the lower left. It is in excellent condition except for a light crease in the lower right corner visible in my photo of the signature. The colors are very strong and the image is crisp. There is no fading, holes, tears or trimming. It is very lightly and evenly toned as one would expect with a print almost 50 years old. But absolutely no mat burn or stain.
