Tuesday, 13 September 2005 32 Aspects of Women: #19 Looking 'Impatient' Artist: Yoshitoshi Format: Oban tate-e: 14" x 9.5" approx Subject: #19 A fireman's wife of the Kaei era (1848/54) seated, impatiently waiting beside his robe. From the series, Thirty-two Aspects of Customs and Manners of Women, which we shall be auctioning in its entirety over the next few weeks. Publisher: Tsunashima Kamekichi Date: 1888 Condition: Very slightly trimmed. Laid down on album backing, as issued. Two small stains in title cartouche. Some minor offsetting and a water stain at base. Minor soils, marks and flaws. Generally very good state. Colour: Fine Impression: Fine 1st edition with 3-color title cartouche.
