Print no. 47 of the series: "Famous Views of the Sixty-odd Provinces" Formed by the Makidani River, the Gokei Valley is famous for its impressive rock formations, thought to resemble dragons ascending to heaven. Here, human visitors on the river banks are depicted to provide contrast in scale to the huge granite rocks and fast moving river.
