Title Morning at Beppu - Souvenirs of Travel Artist Hasui Kawase 1883-1957 Biography Resume Signature Hasui. Seal Artist's seal (sui). Dated 1928. Description "Tabi Miyage, dai san shu; Beppu no Asa". From the Series "Souvenirs of Travel III", an early morning at Beppu in Ohita prefecture. Elegant view of the quiet harbor. The Venus is still seen next to the crescent moon but the horizon is already having a hint of the rising sun. Narazaki described that the dark undulating lines of the sea waves were typical of this region. Note Watanabe copyright seal for 1929-1942.
